INDIVIDUAL LIVES CHANGED Some initiatives we have supported
HARRY'S JOLLY BACK CHAIR
We helped a school buy an ergonomic chair so provision could be made more easily accessible to
pupils with a range of limiting and challenging physical special needs. Here is Harry with his helper. She sits in a comfortable and safe position as they work together so interaction can be at an appropriate level. Her back is no longer at risk of bending or twisting damage. Harry has moved on to his next school and continues to do very well.
HENRY REACHES THE BOLSHOI
It was a real pleasure to help Henry Perkins achieve his long treasured goal.
That was to be the first British boy dancer graduate of the world renowned Bolshoi Ballet. Perseverance and hard work brought him success. He graduated in 2010.
He found his time in Moscow very exhilarating learning much more than the skills needed for success as a dancer. He became a role model for other young British dancers. His first professional job was with the Estonian National Ballet.
WE HELPED SUSANNAH PAINT
Susannah was a capable and experienced teacher until a seriously debilitating condition put an end to her career.
A competent amateur painter for years, without her income she needed funds to maintain that useful interest. We helped her acquire materials she needed to make a new start. m We received a lovely Christmas card that year, painted with her new materials. It was rewarding for us and for our donors. Her restored self confidence helped her family feel reassured about the future, too.
